Real Street Car Feature- Paul Tadin’s 1967 Chevelle
8.40’s @ 170 mph on 9″ slicks
OK, you see this pretty black Chevelle parked at your local Saturday night hang out and take a look under the car. It has a mundane stock GM suspension and a nice pair of aftermarket shocks. Then you notice that the thing has FOUR mufflers under it (two of which are cheap 3″ turbo style muff’s). The hood is closed but you see that it has 396 flags on the front fender so you assume it is a big block.
Then Paul Tadin fires the thing up to head home and you hear some serious hardware idling under the hood. Mind you the exhaust note is really minimal (with those 4 mufflers trying to tame the beast within) but the gig is up, this is a nasty street machine !!! You ask your buddy what he thinks it runs and he immediately tags it is a 9 second car. Close but no cigar…this 3600 pound street car has run 8.48 @ 170 MPH through the exhaust on the 9″ skinnys. Check out the video !!!
New web site for 2009
Our web site just turned four years old and it was time for a “freshening up”. We have added some really cool features that give it a lot more horsepower than before. Along with the new web site we have released TWO new DVD’s for 2008 !!! The Canadian Street Car Nationals 2008 and the Ultimate Street Car Drag Racing 2008 DVD’s are packed with some of the BEST fastest street car racing ever caught on video.
Be sure to check out our new forums including : Street Tales, Tech Talk, 2008, Feature Car and Archives. In our Street Tales is a place for street racing stories and we will be accepting stories from our readers so get them e-mailed in to us (pictures are not required). Tech Talk is designed to be a place for industry leaders to share their knowledge of how to build/race door slammer cars. 2008 is a photo gallery that will feature digital pictures taken at the races that we covered this year. Feature Car forum will be featuring some of the baddest street cars on the planet. The Archive section is a place for all old articles to go once they have been replaced with a new feature (so that you can access them at any time in the future).
We hope that you enjoy the new web site and the new DVD’s this year. Everything that we did in 2008 was based on feedback that we have received from all of you fans & racers. It is our hope that everyone who visits our web site will find something interesting to check out.
Thanks to all of our loyal customers over the years. If you are new to our web site you better sit down, buckle up, and get ready for wheel standing, bumper dragging street car racing like you have never seen before !!!

Jim Plimpton “Dr. FORD”

Jim’s been around fast Ford’s for his entire life and he has developed quite a reputation as a serious competitor when it comes to street car drag racing. In 2008 he won the Hot Rod Pump Gas Drags with his Procharger equipped big block blue oval built by the legendary Steve Morris.
It was down on power at only 1,700 horsepower but has been “tuned up” this year and is running on the good stuff (116 octane go juice). The new combo has made over 2,100 horsepower and there is still more in it. This old T-Bird is a hefty 3,500 lbs but Jim just can’t give up those comfy red velour seats and stock interior (including back seat). This thing has run deep in the 7’s at over 181 mph….and he drove it to work for an entire week to break in the engine. Wanna race ???
Outlaw Street Car Drag Racing - Randy Dolenseck’s 7 second Mercury Cyclone
The “Green Giant” Cyclone has run 7.60’s and is one of the coolest blue oval cars that you will ever see !!! Packing over 600 cubic inches this car can get the job done. Sit down, buckle up and get ready for an awesome in-car ride along as Randy tears up the quarter mile.
Bonus In-Car Video for June 2009
Brian Block’s Modified Super Stock Monte Carlo
Big wheel stands and 1/8 mile smoky burnout’s are the norm when the Monte is out racing with the Modified Super Stock’s at Great Lakes Dragaway. This legendary car has been 7.70’s (which is amazing for such a big and un-aerodynamic G-body). Always one to put on a great show Brian has the wheelie bars set high against the bumper so that the thing carries the front tires 100 feet out. Listen to this big block Chevrolet screaming through the traps at over 8,000 rpm !!!
